Welcome to Aikido Vinohrady Prague
Many people seek for a way how to stand upright and on their own two feet,
how to move freely, to be well-balanced and
communicate with others without fear or violence.
Simply, to be more human.
There are many ways leading in this direction - we offer you aikido.
Getting started with aikido
New students of aikido can join any training during the year (see our schedule), we have two classes per week focused on aikido basics, so that it is easier for beginners to start. The first lesson is for free. Detailed information for new members is available on the newcomers page.
We teach also in English
When English speaking people come to a class, it is held both in Czech and English. Moreover, many dojo members speak English and or other foreign languages. Thus the dojo is quite an international place: besides Czech people there are also people from France, England, Slovakia, Russia, Norway and so on.
If you speak English, you can join us without worries.
Shortly about aikido
Aikido is a Japanese martial art, which develops many human qualities simply by practicing mostly self-defense techniques. Aikido training includes:- interesting and healthy physical exercise,
- personal development,
- company of friendly and open-minded people, and
- self-defence.
Students of aikido not only improve their movement and martial arts skills, but are also taught how to find their place in a space, maintain balance, express intention, feel their own body and communicate with others - not only in relation to aikido techniques but also in their day-to-day lives.
This means that aikido is not only a physical exercise but also an infinitely inspiring way of life.
